An avid makeup lover in high school, Makeup Artist, Jessica Toro had always imagined succeeding in makeup artistry, professionally. Few years later, while working for L'Oreal Paris in Marketing & Product Development, her passion in the cosmetics industry inspired her to continue her education in makeup artistry.

 

In 2006, the NYC, Puerto Rican-native became certified by the New York Make-Up Designory School (MUD) in SoHo.  It was at MUD where she mastered her art in makeup for print, film, fashion, and weddings. In 2007 she then joined the traveling L’Oreal PRO Makeup Team.

 

While freelancing as a makeup artist, she landed gigs making over celebrities like Nicki Minaj, Ludacris, and Brooke Shields.

In the midst of it all, Jessica later expanded her business by diving into the wedding industry.  In 2010 she established Ayari's Brides (now rebranded as GawJess Brides), a wedding hair and makeup company servicing brides throughout NY & NJ, which has serviced over 500 brides and earned prestigious accolades. In 2018 her bridal company was inducted into The Knot Hall of Fame and has also been awarded the Couples’ Choice Award by Wedding Wire six times.

Today she is an independent freelance makeup artist expanding her professional experience, whether it's assisting Celebrity Makeup Artist, Renee Garnes, or working on her personal clients for their special events.
